We are seeking to appoint a new Assistant or Associate Pastor to work alongside our existing Pastor to help us as we look to sustain our growth whilst strengthening and deepening all we currently do.
As part of the eldership, the Assistant / Associate Pastor will work with the other elders to lead the church, working with and supporting our Pastor. We anticipate this will include: - Preaching regularly at our Sunday morning services. - Service planning, being part of our Sunday morning service leading team, and regularly leading at our twice monthly Sunday evening services. - Providing oversight and support for specific areas of church ministry depending on gifting and experience. - Supporting, encouraging, and helping to equip ministry leaders to grow and flourish in their ministry. - Be involved in discipleship to help members of the congregation to grow in spiritual maturity and in using and developing their gifts for works of service. - Be involved in sharing the pastoral care oversight and workload with the elders. In addition, we have identified the following areas where an Assistant / Associate Pastor might help us as we grow: - Planning and leading evangelistic initiatives, events, and services as we seek to grow our links and presence in the local community - Supporting our growing ministry among internationals. - Helping to support, develop and grow our youth work - Helping us consider the potential for church planting should the opportunity arise in the future.
We are seeking an Assistant / Associate Pastor who is: - A Christian with the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 who is committed to the ministry of prayer and the word (Acts 6). - Someone with some experience of ministry and church leadership and who is likely to have undergone a form of theological training. - In agreement with the FIEC doctrinal basis and ethos statements and able to work within our church Fellowship Guide (available on request).
Christ Church Trumpington is an independent evangelical church affiliated to the FIEC. Planted into Trumpington, a rapidly growing part of Cambridge in 2014, we have grown to a congregation of around 100 and are made up of a wide range of ages and nationalities, reflecting the community in which we are based.
