Date posted: 25th January 2023
Application ends: 5th March 2023

An opportunity to train for/enter independent church leadership by serving and studying with a growing FIEC church in Mid-Sussex. For the right candidate, there is the potential to set up and co-lead a church plant with the aim of becoming its minister.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone to serve alongside our minister for four years from September 2023. Depending on circumstances the candidate would work 0.6-0.8 of the church working week. The role will involve: 1) sharing the preaching, teaching and breadth of church ministries; 2) overseeing the youth and children's work; 3) gaining experience and mentoring in church leadership; 4) involvement in a potential church plant. Those without formal training would undertake an agreed course of study in the remainder of their time. However, this position would also suit anyone wanting to serve part time in order to undertake further study, other employment, or the care of children. (The pay quoted is pro rata).

Required skills

The right person will: 1. be an evangelical Christian who is known to display the qualities of Titus 1v3-9, and who agrees with the FIEC doctrinal basis and three ethos statements; 2. show enthusiasm for prayer, evangelism, and discipling and caring for God's people; 3. have some aptitude for the thorough teaching of the Bible to adults, children and youth, and in initiating, leading and equipping people for ministries within the church.

Other

Planted in Bolnore (a new build section of Haywards Heath) in 2015, we are a warm hearted church that comprises around 120 people from various nationalities, of whom half are children and young people. We have strong links with the Sussex Gospel Partnership for which our minister is the Associate Trainer, and hold a dual policy on baptism. Our vision is to be an area church centred on Bolnore, with four particular values: treasuring Christ in a way that overflows in prioritising church, embracing truth and living mission.
