We are looking for a qualified accountant with sufficient experience to manage and control the financial operation at St Helen's.


Key responsibilities will include improving the management process of the finance team, producing the church's annual budget, completing charitable committees, parish and corporate tax returns, and liaising with HMRC on tax and regulatory issues including staff benefits. The role will also be supervising the recording of the church's income and claiming Gift Aid where applicable and reporting income trends to the St Helen's Finance Committee.

Required skills

- Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) - Significant knowledge and experience of Excel is essential - Experience of Sage accounting software preferable - Proficient in Microsoft Word & Outlook - Good attention to detail - Excellent, clear communication skills in spoken and written English - Planning and organisational skills, including the ability to give clear instructions to others. All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK on a full time, permanent basis.
