Youth & Student Worker

To support the ongoing work of the congregation, we are now seeking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with young people and encouraging them in the Christian faith.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for a range of duties including but not limited to; - Organising meetings and events for students/young workers to build friendships and equip them for Christian life - Meeting one to one with young people for prayer and Bible Study - Developing links with Christian Unions and other Christian youth organisations - Supporting work with international students - Leading youth outreach work in the local community - Working alongside the Family & Community Worker to build community links - Developing a programme of events for teenagers in the congregation

Required skills

With previous experience in youth work or student outreach, you will be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. You will be sensitive in approach with the ability to build trusting relationships and will possess excellent organisational and communications skills.

Other

You will be involved in implementing decisions integral to the furtherance of the congregation's mission and it is therefore essential that applicants are sympathetic to the mission and ethos of the Free Church of Scotland.
