NB THIS POST COULD BE COMBINED WITH OUR OTHER PART-TIME VACANCY TO MAKE A FULL TIME JOB. A woman or man to help develop children and families who: - trust and follow Jesus - grow in Jesus - love Jesus' family - share Jesus.

Responsibilities

Potential areas of service, depending on the gifts and experience of the person appointed, include: - Leading a team of volunteer leaders (including recruiting and training more) for Sunday Junior Church in age groups. It is likely that the optimum Sunday arrangement would involve attending the 9am adult service at St Mary's Claverton before being with children at the 1045 in Bathampton. - Involvement in the local (non-church) primary school: assemblies and more… - Pastoral care focusing on women (including positive encouragement of those who are single for whatever reason) and families. - Serving in the Summer leadership team of CPAS Lakeview Venture – either Junior (age 10-13) or Senior (14-18). - Leading our toddler group Mini Club reaching out to "babies, pre-schoolers and their grown-ups" (especially young mums and carers) - Taking initiative to launch something new. - Leading services and perhaps occasionally preaching under the supervision of the Rector.

Required skills

Love for Jesus and for people Ability to teach the Bible to children and adults Infectious enthusiasm Desire to model and encourage godly living Leadership of volunteers and perseverance through ups and downs

Other

There is an occupational requirement that the person appointed be a Christian. Our church families are not as ethnically diverse as we would like to be! Applications are welcome from people from any ethnic group. This role will require working closely with the Rector, Jonty Frith, who is on the committee of CEEC Bath & Wells; the successful applicant will gladly affirm the Basis of Faith (including Additional Declarations) of the Church of England Evangelical Council, and be at ease with the complementarian theology of the South West Gospel Partnership, whether or not in full agreement. Theological training and some practical ministry experience would be advantageous. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
