Family Youth and Children's Worker

Broughty Ferry Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Free Church of Scotland, based in the sea-side suburb of Broughty Ferry. We seek to appoint a staff member to help us run and develop our ministry to children, young people and families.

Responsibilities

Working with our minister, leaders, and other volunteers, to ensure we provide the best possible pastoral care and teaching for children, young people and families; assisting in the recruitment and training of volunteers and leaders; initiating gospel outreach within the community, helping parents in their responsibilities in raising their children; seeking opportunities for outreach and evangelism.

Required skills

Experience of leading this type of work; Working with volunteers in a church or similar context; Approachable and personable; Team player; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in communicating the Christian faith; Good computer, presentational and social media skills; Understanding of current safeguarding and health and safety practices; Ability to plan and organise workload; Above all a life that is committed to following the Lord Jesus Christ, and a passion for sharing the gospel.
