The Operations Manager will direct daily church operations and take a lead in the practical implementation of the elders' spiritual vision, enabling smooth working practices across both staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Operational leadership - Overseeing CCH's day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with the church's spiritual direction - Developing systems and processes to improve the administrative efficiency of CCH - Developing plans and managing projects and budgets to implement new initiatives as required - Supporting the elders, particularly the ministers, so they can focus on their primary responsibilities of praying, preaching, and pastoral care - Overseeing both physical and digital communication across all levels of CCH, including its visitors - Supporting the trustees to ensure adequate policies and procedures are in place, covering areas such as Health and Safety, Data Protection and Safeguarding - Lead the other deacons in their management of buildings and facilities, including occasional improvement projects Administration, staff and volunteers - Line management responsibility for the administration team - Ensure that all the staff team have the support and IT resources required to do their jobs - Management of HR, including contracts, holiday entitlement and ministerial cover - Making sure tasks and events are delivered in good time and to a high standard - Shaping the set-up of the administration team, including recruitment of both staff and volunteers - Developing systems and processes to better manage volunteers, enabling the wider membership of the church to be able to serve in areas of their gifting

Required skills

The role will naturally interact with a wide range of people, so strong people-skills, including excellent communication abilities, are essential - The Operations Manager will be a team player, developing close and supportive working relationships with various members of the eldership, diaconate, staff, and wider membership - As with all Christian leaders, they must have a servant heart, and have an ability to encourage others - The role requires a strong level of organisational, reporting and project management skills, and competency with standard office software (Microsoft, Google) and online portals.

Spiritual - The candidate must be a mature Christian believer, who by God's power seeks to love the Lord and therefore love people - They must meet the biblical qualifications for a deacon outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8-10 - They must be living a clear life of ongoing repentance and progress in the faith, being humble (because we are all works in progress) and hopeful (because we have the Spirit of God) Development - Reporting to the Senior Minister, the Operations Manager will have monthly 121s and annual reviews - Ongoing personal development as identified by the elders, including training and courses
