Assistant Pastor

Full-time

Emmanuel Bristol (BS1 2NN)

Date posted: 20th October 2022
Application ends: 14th November 2022

Do you love Jesus, love His people and love living and working in a bustling city? Are you looking for an assistant pastor role that will be hands-on but also come with lots of support and input from a wider staff team?

Responsibilities

Emmanuel Westbury (one of the three Emmanuel Bristol churches) is looking to appoint an assistant pastor. Emmanuel Westbury is made up of around 250 adults (including 50 – 60 students) and 100 under-18s and meets at 4pm at Redmaids' High School in Westbury-on-Trym. We are part of the Church of England. The role will be for a period of three years. We expect it to start in summer 2023, although there is flexibility for it to begin sooner.

Required skills

All applicants will reflect the character descriptions set out in passages like 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. They will also have a track record of expositional preaching and have completed formal theological training. Beyond that, we're open to applicants with a variety of gifts and experience. We're particularly interested in hearing from those with experience of: - Leadership in a thriving student ministry. - Facilitating every-member ministry – especially when it comes to evangelism. - Growing and embedding a biblical culture for community and social engagement. If you haven't got experience of the above, but are still committed to the vision of Emmanuel Bristol (see website 'Vision and values' section) we encourage you to get in touch.

Other

Appointment is subject to clear Enhanced and barred level DBS disclosure. There is a genuine occupational requirement for the role-holder to be a male Christian fully aligned with what we believe (see website "About us"). For further details see www.emmanuelbristol.org.uk/jobs
