Holy Trinity Eastbourne has a love for the Gospel of Christ and the people the Lord Jesus calls to glorify himself through it. This is why we are seeking to appoint a godly Christian with a passion for, and gifting in, sharing the Word of God with music.

Responsibilities

The following is a current list of areas that the job holder will have direct responsibility for championing, recruiting, and developing. The list is not exhaustive and the job holder will be expected to periodically review effectiveness and consider alternatives if needed. There will be other occasional duties as assigned by the line manager. Preparation and distribution of a music selection for all services. Helping to deliver the music in the Sunday services, and other occasional services. This may sometimes be in a supervisory capacity in order to encourage and develop the HT musicians in their gifts. Oversee and collaborate with members of staff or volunteers to produce a healthy range of contemporary (e.g. Sovereign Grace Music, City Alight, Getty Music) and popular hymn music on Sunday mornings and other relevant occasions, which may include scoring parts for individual instruments. Rehearsing with the music group, this may include providing parts for instrumentalists. Providing musical support for the children's ministry, to include leading children's songs during some of the children's talks and ensuring the Sunday Club leaders are encouraged to use music in their classes, where appropriate. Search for and help to train musicians for the edification of the church. Provide musical support for midweek meetings. Read the Bible 1to1 with others of the same gender. Set up and Set down of audio-visual equipment and the training of AV volunteers; advise the PCC of the need for maintenance, repair and updating of AV equipment. Assistance of the production of Service projection media including sermon slides, and all audio/visual media. We use ProPresenter as our presentation software.

Required skills

Profile of the Music Pastor - Essential Criteria Passion for God and his gospel. Humble character and willingness to learn Clear understanding how God speaks today through Holy Scripture. Solid understanding of the role of music in corporate worship. Experience of leading sung worship in both solo, band and music group settings. Ability to sing and play lead instrument (either guitar or piano/keyboard) to a high standard. Familiarity with different musical styles of sung worship, including contemporary, middle of the road, traditional, and popular hymns and songs. Ability to arrange songs for different instruments in the band/orchestral setting Able Team Leader to work effectively with volunteers and the Ministry team. Good administrative and organisational skills. Reading sheet music and scoring parts. Basic Knowledge and experience of setting up and running Audio/Visual technologies. Experience of training and pastoring teams. The ability to lead and train teams of others to grow the ministry of music in the church.
